Itinerary
Day 1, 2 – Makgadikgadi National Park, 2 nights Leroo La Tau Camp. Fully InclusiveYour
welcome to Africa begins at Johannesburg International Airport where
you´ll be assisted to connect with a scheduled flight to Maun. On
arrival, you’ll be met by your pilot for a light aircraft transfer to
the Makgadikgadi National Park.On arrival at the airstrip, you’ll
be transferred to Leroo La Tau. The camp is built on cliffs over
15metres high above the Boteti arid riverbed, thus ensuring unsurpassed
views of the desert and it’s inhabitants. In the dry season wildlife
concentrates around the water hole in front of the lodge and during the
wet season, this vast area of salt pans interspersed with low-lying
grass islands is the destination of herds of migrating Zebra.
Activities include twice daily thrilling game drives, hides and walks.Day 3, 4 – Chobe National Park. 2 nights, Savute Safari Lodge. Fully InclusiveAnother
light aircraft transfer will take you to Savute Safari Lodge.
Unobtrusive and discrete, this lodge peers out from ancient camelthorn
trees on the banks of the dry Savute channel like a curious but
cautious traveller spying on the herds of elephant and lion prides
which populate the dynamic Savute eco system.Vast technicolour
sunsets, summer zebra migrations and all-action predators such as wild
dogs provide guests with awesome spectacles without leaving the camp.
Guided game drives offer further highlights.Game drives in open 4x4
safari vehicles are conducted in the Savute area, including the Savute
Marsh, and a visit to the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills.Day 5, 6 – Okavango Delta. 2 nights, Xugana Island Camp. Fully InclusiveAfter
breakfast, take a scenic light aircraft flight to the Xugana Island
Camp, set on the edge of the beautiful Xugana Lagoon known as the most
spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta, which in
the midst of the Kalahari sands, is Africa`s largest and most
awe-inspiring oasis.Exploring the Delta by motorboat or mokoro,
combined with walking on surrounding islands in the concession, gives
guests the chance to experience a classic Okavango Delta safari.
Bird-watching opportunities are outstanding, and fishing for bream and
tiger fish is also offered as an activity at the lodge.Day 7, 8 – Moremi Wildlife Reserve. 2 nights, Camp Moremi. Fully InclusiveToday,
take a speed boat transfer to Camp Moremi located in the Xaxanaka
Region of Moremi Wildlife Reserve, which covers an area of about 4,871
km², as the eastern segment of the Okavango Delta. Moremi combines
mopane woodland and acacia forests, floodplains and lagoons and has a
vast variety of plant, bird and animal life, creating one of the most
magnificent and welcoming wildlife sanctuaries in all of Africa.Track
big game on morning and afternoon game drives by open 4x4 safari
vehicle in the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, renowned for frequent sightings
of lion, leopard & cheetah, as well as wild dog, whose numbers are
so rapidly dwindling in other areas. Other game seen in the area are
hyena, hippo and the full range of antelope, large and small, including
the red lechwe. Alternatively, explore the Xakanaxa Lagoon and
surrounding Okavango channels by motorboat. Before returning to the
lodge on your afternoon activity, enjoy sundowners with views of
Botswana’s breathtaking sunsets.Day 9 – DepartureAfter
breakfast and farewells you’ll be transferred by light aircraft to Maun
to connect with scheduled flight back to Johannesburg in time for
international flight connections.
