Today I will start writing about a project that I started 5 months ago, when I found myself having to take the hard decision of closing down Magic Globe Travel in the midst of the worst economic crisis as far as I can remember...with no employment prospect even for a qualified Travel Operations person like me, I decided to modify the website to allow other operators to upload their itinerary proposal to take advantage of the good Google positions that MagicGlobe.com enjoys.

I then decided to research on the software to be used to build a platform that would allow us to manage the community of operators and the community of travellers allowing them to communicate with each other in a secure way to ultimately offer a market place where people can source responsible travel holidays from local suppliers (so to make sure money goes to local people) with interesting value for money itineraries in Africa and South America initially with the prospect of adding destinations in Asia, Carebbean, Middle East and destinations in Europe and North America.

We are five months down the line and the platform is taking shape, but is by no means ready..I will keep posting updates on the progress.
